First Day of First Grade

Good evening,
I wanted to let everyone know our first day was a great success! The boys and girls were able to follow directions, take a math assessment, draw a self-portrait, color, and complete a cooperative learning activity where they had to interact with one another to find out what type of activities they like! They did a great job! We also read a couple of stories, and did an activity with one, discussing how important it is for us to work together!
I wanted to remind you that tomorrow is our open house. I will be presenting at 6:00 and then I will have another presentation at 7:00.
Also, I wanted to make a first day jitter juice today, but I did not have a list of student allergies. If you could please email me back this evening, or by tomorrow morning and let me know what, if anything, your child is allergic to, I would greatly appreciate it! Even if your child is not allergic to something, please email me so I can write that down, and note that your child does not have an allergy.

The two food related projects we will be doing this week are:
Jitter Juice→ lemon lime soda, powdered pink lemonade, orange sherbet.
Marshmallow Feet→ graham crackers, frosting (a little bit), and 5 marshmallows.

If you have returned the paper work, thank you very much, if you have not been able to complete them yet, please do so and bring back by tomorrow evening.
I look forward it seeing you tomorrow at either 6:00 or 7:00.
Have a great night!
Thank you,
Mrs. McGuire
